Authorization of the Acceptance of $142,917 in State Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) Funds for the Operation of an Access Center and Amending the Agreement of Volunteers of America Los Angeles by Awarding $134,342 to Operate the Access Center as the Hope for Home Services Center Site Operator
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:
1) Adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 2020-150 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $142,917 IN STATE HOMELESS EMERGENCY AID PROGRAM (HEAP) FUNDS FOR OPERATION OF AN ACCESS CENTER INCLUDING THE STAFFING OF A NEW PROBLEM SOLVING SPECIALIST; AMEND THE FY 2020-21 OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATING $26,250 FOR THE PROBLEM SOLVING SPECIALIST AND AMENDING THE AGREEMENT OF VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA LOS ANGELES BY AWARDING $134,342 TO OPERATE THE ACCESS CENTER AS THE HOPE FOR HOME SERVICES CENTER SITE OPERATOR
2) Authorize the City Manager to execute all agreements and any other documentation requested for acceptance of the award, distribution of the funding and operation of the Hope for Home Access Center Program, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
